I chose photographer Stephane Duroy. He is a French artist born in 1948 and currently lives in Paris. He began as a press photographer but left to pursue his own projects. He combines color photographs and combines them with black and white photos to portray Europe after it’s suffered from two wars. He travels around Europe depicting signs of desolation. He also has two books and has had many exhibitions throughout his career.

I really like tis guy. I mean I'm no photographer but I like his pictures. The old style looks really cool. Keep going with you're concentration and you'll get there

Could his photos look less sharp because of their age, these are old photographs. What is the point of mixing colored photos and black and white to you?

I really like the feel of old photographs. Im not sure why but I can connect to them, it has more of a homey feeling instead of like a window. That probably doesn't make sense but I understand it so oh well

Kara Walker's art reminds me of a local artist named Preston Jackson that I saw at the Contemporary arts center. You see in both artists, influences of Harlem Renaissance art and Victorian era illustrations, but warped in a grotesque and foreboding way. If you like Kara Walker, you should check him out.

I find it very interesting that she chose silhouettes to portray racial issues. Looking at some of her pieces, all I can say is wow. This lady has some serious talent and patience. All of her pieces portray something different, which I find really intriguing.

I find the process she goes through to create this works very interesting and unique. I also really enjoy her use of light with some of the pieces she has displayed.

I feel that paper can be a very hit-and-miss medium, so I think it's great that she's able to innovate with it and create something not only unique but fun to view.

Przetwornica Dwa is a sculptor and painter from Vilnius, Lithuania. A recluse he is, he has a small cottage in the town of Vilnius with his pet fox Cornelius Twinkle. He ships his artwork out to galleries or just posts it on social media his motives are to inspire young minds to shake the chains of the oppressive, eurocentric, capitalistic society we live in, and to think for ourselves. It is difficult to find specific personal information about him, but from his profiles on the internet he looks young, mid twenties and is very successful since being a fine artist is his main career. Recently on the art scene, he dresses in a very unique way. He dyes his eyebrows bright colors, or even shaves them off completely, a sort of tongue in cheek attitude about the recent fashion obsession with having perfect, thick eye brows. Dwa is male biologically, but identifies as tri-gendered. He uses his body, and art to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and to end body shaming.

Truly a progressive artist, but his technique leaves little to be desired. Definitely the epitome of a sculptor in 2016, both in works and in background. Good pick.

Wow, Dwa? I'm a huge fan. As a half-polish child, my polish blood gives me memories of the fatherland, and thereby I am quite fond of my interactions with Lithuania and its artists
